SHYNE was founded in 2017 with the intent to host vision-driven wellness retreats. Since inception, it has beautifully evolved into a sisterhood community that functions as an African-centered educational institution, ile (spiritual home) and developmental ministry in the IFA-Orisa tradition.

SHYNE is an ancestral assignment that seeks to holistically restore well-being and wholeness in the African Diaspora. We do this by creating pathways for Black women to reclaim our authentic selves and re-align with our destinies as the first mothers of civilization.

SHYNE serves as a sacred and safe space where women are able to reconcile traumas and engage in decolonization while developing liberatory relationships, lifestyles and leadership skills. Everything we do prioritizes one goal: to support Black women in embodying their wholeness in order to reach their highest potential in fulfilling their purpose.

Mission

SHYNE will restore humanity by prioritizing the spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical wholeness of Black women and girls.

Vision

SHYNE envisions a world where the African Diaspora is free of the impacts of race-based trauma and holistically equipped to be the conduits our world awaits.

Our Values

Intergenerational Healing

We recognize that we are not solely a reflection of one lifetime's experience, and therefore, healing is not limited to individualized impact. It is a ripple that creates new coding for many generations backwards and forward.

African
Spirituality

We believe that ancestral relationships serve as the foundation and compass to our healing. Through indigenous spirituality, we come home to ourselves and remember our purpose.

Self Sustainability

We believe that through the prioritization of self care, we are able to better fulfill the radical work we're called to do; without becoming a sacrifice. We honor the needs of our authentic selves and make space for our wholeness to inform our servant leadership.

African-Centered Education

We wholeheartedly center the histories, assets, genius and resilience of African people and principles. We abide by the belief that through true knowledge of oneself we reclaim our humanities and are empowered to cultivate transformational impact  in our own lives, within our families, relationships and communities.

Liberatory Leadership

We honor that scientific evidence has revealed the first human being as an African woman, and as her descendants, we accept our positionality as the mothers of civilization. It is our duty to uplift our divine assignments and we leverage

humanizing paradigms in order to do so. Through our  love, integrity and willingness, humanity will be restored.

I aspire to create a critical mass of women and girls who embody their divinity and feel empowered in the spiritual responsibility we have to be the facilitators of intergenerational healing and diasporic transformation.
